Singing the Devil’s Praises

The language of the devil is lies, thus it follows that glorifying him any greater than speaking his language, is that of singing him praises by our grumbling. Grumbling means to complain about something in an ill-tempered way.

The enemy seeks to destroy our faith by speaking lies directly to us, often in a first-person form of speech. For example, I may be asking the Lord in prayer to heal me of a certain condition. The enemy will try to input thoughts into my mind by saying things such as:

¤ I don’t know why I’m wasting my time, I’m not going to get healed.
¤ Look how much good people died from sicknesses, why would I be any different?
¤ Maybe I should just accept this as my own reality and stop fighting it.
¤ Maybe God really doesn’t exist, and if He does; maybe He just doesn’t care.

This is exactly what happened to me when I was struck with an unknown and incurable condition. This is how the enemy injected doubt into my thought process, which became the very things I meditated upon, and therefore had spoken.

People would ask me, “Haven’t you prayed?” I would grumble by saying “Yeah, I prayed and God didn’t heal me.” Some may not see the sin of grumbling in this statement, but if you ponder it a while longer you will recognize that not only am I speaking doubt into others, but I am also solidifying the doubt I already have about God within myself. Lastly, I am speaking ill against the Lord.

I am basically saying:

– I, Philip McKenley, am a good person.
– I prayed
– God, ‘the bad person’, refuses or withholds His healing.

The Bible speaks of the Israelites grumbling in 1 Corinthians 10:8-11 in the wilderness in which God sent the destroying angel to kill every one of them. The thing with grumbling is that it’s very cancerous and it spreads like wildfire. Once the sin of grumbling is conceived by believing in the devil’s lies, they have basically accepted their defeat and only through sincere repentance may again find favor with God.

Why Does God Allow Evil?

I’ve been asked a number of times in my life questions such as:

If God is so good then why does He ‘send’ people to hell?

Or

Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?

Both questions sound the same but are not, as one deals with eternity whilst the other is referring to those alive on earth today.

These questions can be answered very bluntly, by me saying that 1) God does not send people to hell, they simply choose to go and 2) God does not want bad things to happen to anyone, but sin and the devil most assuredly do.

There are those who make God their enemy in their inability to understand His ways, but the truth is that the real enemy is the one promoting this confusion, catastrophe and delusion.

Satan, is the author of lies and deception, as well as the source from which evil is produced. Our God by a simple word or snap of a finger can remove free-will and create a world of peace as we would have no other choice but to obey Him, yet love is not manipulative or domineering. God who is Love, therefore gives us the freedom to serve and obey Him as well as the freedom to disobey and rebel.

Who can be blamed for the evil in this world? I can only blame myself, for if sin is within me then I must banish it from my thoughts, my lips, my heart, my life. If we all take responsibility for abolishing all sin without compromise, imagine the world we would be living in today.

Unfortunately, as the Bible states, “Many are called but the chosen are few” and few there maybe thay read such a post as this and fewer thus that will take action.

Loneliness Has Friends – cont’d

In going through moments where we struggle with the feeling of loneliness it is noteworthy to be cognizant of the following:

1. There are other brothers and sisters across the world that may be in the same situation as you.

2. Jesus, himself suffered from this feeling of abandonment upon the cross (Matt. 27:46).

3. He sent His Holy Spirit, Our Comforter, so that we would never have to suffer alone and that we would have the power to overcome.

4. Finally, if we allow loneliness to takeover, it may lead to self-pity, bitterness, depression and so forth.

I find it very comforting when being in a situation, that I am able to get advice or comfort from someone who went through the same thing. When Jesus took on the sins of the world, He felt abandoned by God, yet we have to remember one thing – God promised that He will never leave nor forsake us.

So the question is this:

If God promises to NEVER leave nor forsake, why would Jesus ask “…my God, why hast thou forsaken Me?”

I believe the reason Jesus asked this question is based on the truth that He lived an entire life without sin. Once He took on all the sins of the entire world, generations gone and those to come, He felt the most powerful effect of sin; SEPARATION FROM GOD.

Sin separates us from God and not God from us.

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59: 1-2

Sin is the severance of an electrical item from its power supply. Remove a bulb from its socket and all you’ll have is glass. Removing ourselves from His presence via sin only open us up to a devil who not only want us to feel lonely, but to be lonely for eternity. For if Hell is one thing assured, it is an eternal separation from God.

Uncertainty

Life. Is it more filled with certainty or uncertainty? Life, is nothing but a seeming never-ending episode of uncertainty, leading to other uncertainties.

We get an education yet we are uncertain of the challenges we will face at school. We get qualified yet, are uncertain if we will even get a job that best suits our area of expertise or our passions. We get a job but even then, there is uncertainty of our level of success, mobility, the obstacles we may face and so much more. We may meet someone we fall in love with yet, we are never certain if they are the one we will marry, and if we do; we are never certain of how things will work out.

Amidst all these forms of bewilderment, the greatest of all that I ask myself is “When will I die? Will it be a peaceful death?” Maybe you don’t ask these questions but I most certainly do.

Life can be very uncertain. In fact, no one can ever be truly certain of exactly how life will turn out. We may have hopes, dreams and ambitions; we may even work as hard as possible to ensure a specific lifestyle, yet amidst it all, uncertainty is still present.

Life is filled with uncertainty, but of these things I am truly certain – God is real and His Love is even more so. This certainty, causes all other uncertainties to become blurred and thus out of my focus. There is a scripture that states, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” It’s a powerful question and statement even. It’s saying that having full knowledge that our God loves and cares for us, it matters not who may stand against us, be it principalities, powers, sickness, disease, death etc.

God is for us!!! This is the most certain statement that we can make. Death is certain, but because I have given my life to God, the uncertainty of time here on earth is not such a problem anymore. The focus now is to love as much, while there is such time to love as such.

When the Light Fades

What do you do when friends are no longer friends;
When those who should be there can no longer be sensed?

What do you do when the solutions you knew no longer solves;
When the problems you once overcame has returned and evolves?

What do you do when that which brought you happiness breeds depression;
When your curiosity becomes full blown addictions with no regression?

What do you do when the enemy you fight is no longer without but within;
When faith becomes failure and holiness, sin.

What do you do when the victory you seek is sky high or miles deep;
When the light fades and gross darkness creeps.

What do you do when prayers flow but answers don’t,
When you begged and pleaded to the point where you’ve lost all hope?

PERSIST!!! Because as long as God gave us breath for today there is hope for a change. He hasn’t given up on us, so we owe it to Him to not give up on ourselves; to not give up on Him.

Persistence with consistency are the two ingredients we all should pray for and exhibit. Without persistence you will always quit at the door to your victory; without consistency you won’t even reach the door.

A Call to Arms

Many of us have been running from the fight as long as we can remember, in hopes that we would never have to face that battle ever again. Many of us have become cunning, and adapted to methods and schemes of evasive action for the purposes of escaping challenges and battles that must be won and difficulties that must be faced.

It’s ok for you to think that that these measures may work, because the truth is, they have for a while. Haven’t they? There are conversations we need to have, but we compromise internally and say to ourselves, “It’s not my place, it’s none on my business. Let it slide.” There are addictions we need to break, but we say “I’ll be good, things are okay. Life goes on.” There are devils we need to face, but we cloud it in, “Oh God’s not real, if He did then…”

The truth is this, there will come a fight for each and every one of us and it won’t matter your age, gender, status or belief. There is a common enemy of man that has been deriding your efforts at success, eroding your dreams of a good marriage, suffocating your desires to be the person God has called you to be.

There is a FIGHT!!! There is a fight; and it has to be fought or I guarantee you upon the solid basis of scripture that you will not only lose, you not only will die, but you will be destroyed! When the Bible asked us to fight the good fight of faith, God knew the devil was going to attack your belief system in yourself, in your neighbor and in Him.  There is a fight, and that fight must be won, for the eternal destiny of a nation, your loved ones, your family and yourself.

Let he who is running, run no more! Let he who is sleeping, awake! Let he who is fearful, take up their weapon of war! FIGHT!!!! Fight for your life; because, as it says in the statement, your life depends on it!!!!

Grace is the ability to do that which you were previously unable to.

Grace is the ability to be that which you thought was impossible to see.

Grace is the strength arisen in weakness derived from belief in God.

Grace is supernatural becoming natural, faith should become natural not odd.

Grace is power over addictions, victory from defeat, life when all said death.

Grace is resilient faith arriving in depths, ascending your life from debts.

Grace is when you’re weak thus becoming strong.

Grace is bended knees and knowing to Whom you belong.

Grace is freely given to the humbly earnest that cannot be bought.

It is the yes when the doc says ‘No’, the job says ‘No’ or life says so.

Grace is the ‘Yes’ for healing, for the job you’re believing, the life you’ve been fighting for.

Grace, God’s Raw Ability Conditionally Endowed.

Surrender to His Will and Power and see His love bestowed.

Let His Grace be upon you as you go about your day.

Grace be unto you and yours forever this day I pray.

When?

In witnessing there are always few responses that are consistently used. The most popular of these, when one is asked about making Jesus their Lord and Savior is, “I am just not ready yet.” This response infers a lot of information. First of all, it assumes that there is a specific day, time and moment that one may suddenly be ready or feel ready. The second, is that it assumes that one has full knowledge of the times, that is, when one is going to pass on from this life.

The first misconception with regard to getting saved, is that there will never be a time when all the signals are just perfect. In fact, most times while someone maybe ministering to you about Jesus, the enemy is doing the opposite by inputting thoughts of doubt and worry at the same time. This is why one may feel a sense of conviction and motivation to make that right decision only to be bombarded with opposing thoughts of how they will stop sinning, or what if they backslide, or what may others think etc.

These thoughts are meant to destroy you by keeping you in sin and as such, must be ignored if one is to have any chance of experience the power, presence and purpose of God in their life. Like NIKE, “Just Do It!” Don’t hesitate!

The second misconception assumes that one has complete knowledge that their day and hour is no nigh. The truth is that not even the prophets, the apostles and other stalwart men and women of God are certain of the time that they will be called up to meet Him. This is why we have made the most important preparation of all. It is because we don’t know when this world will end and more so, we do not know when we will die, that we choose not to wait until the last-minute. Choose today as well as every other day to die to our old selves and LIVE COMPLETELY FOR CHRIST.’

Who Dares Steal His Glory?

For every breath I take and exhale
It is a testimony of love’s travail.
For every smile on my face,
To the strength of the moves I make –
All Glory to You Oh God, Worthy to be praised.

For every meal enjoyed
To the rest, sleep and breaks.
For every friend and family I have,
None given to me by mistake –
All Glory to You oh LORD, The Ancient of Days.

For every dollar and cent I make,
Tithed and offered back to You in faith.
Yet, a world of people who you have made,
And so many have taken Your glory away.

Whether with full knowledge or by mistake,
We give glory to God by the choices me make.
To use our mouth to give Him praise,
To use our lives as examples of His grace,
To use our earnings to tithe back to Him in faith,
To be obedient to His Word for the rest of your days,
To be willing to die for Him as He died in our place,
To know the beauty of His calling and gaze upon His face,
To fight the good fight and at least run this race,
Or be disqualified from paradise and face eternal disgrace.

The Lord God is forever worthy and all Glory be to His Name,
And He will receive all the Glory by free will or force on Judgment Day
When every knee shall bow and tongue confess giving Him praise.
So give Him praise while free and spend eternity in His prepared place,
Or give Him praise later, only to be banished away towards Hell’s gates.

A Most Catastrophic Calamitous Eternal Destruction

Anyone who knows me, know of my love of video games. I had to previously break my addiction to Call of Duty, a game that I have spent hundreds of hours playing over the years. The pros at this game focus on three main objectives: kill-death ratio, win-loss ratio and score per minute. Some give priority to one over the other two, but my definition of the best player, was one who was complete in all categories.

Life, like Call of Duty may also be measured in similar ways. One should focus on Biblical objectives such as, how much people we minister to (encourage, evangelize, pray for etc) on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Of those ministered to, one may need to document how much of those have become Christians, ensure they are getting involved with a church and so forth. It’s shocking how many of us call ourselves children of God, yet we never tell a soul about Jesus and what He has done for us.

We may also need to value our lifestyles, our habits, actions, decisions and weigh the value of them all against eternity. It’s surprising how caught up we are in daily activities all of which have nothing to do with our God-given purpose, talents or gifts. Our lives are so cumbersome that it doesn’t allow us time or energy to do the things that God has called us to do. The poor, the hungry, the rejected, the widow, the fatherless, the homeless, the prisoners; these are they who God has called us to reach out to, not just to our friends and acquaintances within our mutually benefiting social network.

The numbers tell a different story more than our mouths may speak and our minds may think. Jesus said it best, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me” Matthew 15:8. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” Proverbs 14:12. Many of us have silenced our conscience in an effort to sin comfortably and whilst even ‘Christians’ do the same to live a life free of the responsibility of following God’s Word, judgement and death looms more deadly and destructive than the most catastrophic disaster one could ever imagine.

The greatest shock will come to those who so convinced themselves they were saved, knowing in the depths of their souls they truly weren’t. Deceive not yourself one more day, my brothers and my sisters. Make it right before our Almighty King, Jesus; the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords.

Death is not a question of IF but WHEN.
