Father Forgive them…

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Luke 23:34

The Lord Jesus, told His Father to forgive the very people who were crucifying Him.

Jesus’ crucifixion took 6 hours. That is, six hours of mockery, public rejection, whipping, torture, being marred beyond recognition, culminating in His being nailed to a cross, pierced, spat on and left to die.

Seems like they knew exactly what they were doing.

But, do we really know that each time we reject Jesus’ salvation we are basically committing the same crime?

Do we know what we are doing?

Do we know that each time we say to God, “No, I am not ready yet” or “I just don’t know” we are a part of the great numbers that say, “Your suffering, death and resurrection was wasted on me😤. It was in vain✋.”

Do we know what we are doing?

For even those that turned away; are we not committing the crime of Peter of denying Him, or the betrayal of Judas? The Bible describes it as a dog returning to His vomit🙊.

Do we know what we are doing?

I am one of the most greatest backsliders. I’ve gone from preaching on buses to promoting parties. I’ve gone from being used to heal cancer to being at 400 parties in one year. I’ve gone from bringing hundreds of people to the Lord scattering maybe thousands through my social media pages.

So I am as guilty or even more guilty than any of you.

LET US ALL REPENT AND ASK GOD TO REVEAL HIMSELF AND HIS LOVE FOR US THAT WE WILL BE ETERNALLY & ENTIRELY CHANGED!!!

9 Months of Suffering from Unknown Condition

[My testimony of being sick with an unknown condition for 9 months and how I was miraculously healed. Please share with anyone you know that is sick or suffering from any terminal conditions. Longest and most personal devotional to date: 9 Months told in 9 Paragraphs]

9 Months was all it took and my life would have been utterly destroyed. I remember vividly seeing the line to cross-over to insanity but somehow, God took a hold of me in my darkest hour. It all started overseas while on a football and academic scholarship in Chicago. I was at our international student dinner when something came upon me. It felt like needles were piercing through my back from under my skin through every pore. It felt like my blood was bubbling and wanted to escape. I instantly ran out of the dinner into the restroom and ripped off my shirt and soaked it in water and put it on my back.

The surge finally stopped. I felt devastated and went to my dorm room to sleep it off, wishing that this was all a dream. However, it never stopped. I came later to find out that the sun would trigger it instantaneously. Additionally, if my body temperature ever became warm the surge would begin again. I had to constantly be soaking my shirt at least 4 times a day. Being on scholarship from Jamaica, a Caribbean country; made this condition mind-boggling for my coach. No one knew what I had and so I turned to the only one that I could depend on, Jesus Christ.

At the time, I was doing my major in Youth Ministry as I am called to full-time ministry; and so, I began seeking the Lord for healing. I would pray, declare, bind, loose, rebuke, worship, praise, stay up all night, ball, beg, plead, intercede, everything that I knew which God enabled me to use to heal myself and others; but this time it was to no avail. As the sun would rise, so would the surge. When I refused to apply water to my back, and used faith to rebuke it, it would worsen to the point where tiny bumps would come up all across my upper body and arms.

For three months I sought the Lord and after that, I gave in and gave up. I accepted the condition as my own. I grew angry and bitter with the Lord. I ended up losing the football scholarship and had to come back to Jamaica after two years of college. This was the worse point in my life. My body wouldn’t allow me to sweat, exercise or do any hectic activity. I couldn’t even hug anybody because my shirt was always soaked. My self-esteem which was always high took the biggest hit of all.

For the next six months I struggled in my newly accepted lifestyle. I moved from an air-conditioned car to my dad’s air-conditioned office where I worked. I travelled with a bottle of cold water to spray myself like a plant any time that my shirt would become less damp. I went from doctors, doing blood tests to my family physician who after several efforts with prescriptions said the words no one ever wants to hear “I have tried everything that I know, there is nothing further that I can do for you.”

In my father’s last resort, he took me to see a psychiatrist who he really said was a psychologist. Based on the location, Ward 21, and the range of questions I easily deduced she was a psychiatrist. The first meeting didn’t really hit me, but; the second meeting in which I had to enter from within Ward 21 is when the gravity of the situation came upon me. I remembered reaching ground zero and as the door closed behind us, I ushered a prayer up to the Lord saying “God, I know I haven’t spoken to you for about 6 months. I NEED A WORD FROM YOU!”

My mom’s friend gave her a word from the Lord to give me that very same day. She said “This is a demonic spirit and you have to do a 3-day water fast and God will heal you.” So I started the fast the following day where the Lord showed me 3 sins (that is, 1 sin each day), that I repented from. On the third after repenting from the 3rd sin I was instantly healed. PRAISE BE TO GOD!!!

Not only was I healed, but I had also promised the Lord that if He ever healed me I would return to U.W.I. Hospital and share my testimony and the Lord also healed a lady who had stage 4 leukemia who had just a few days to live. The Lord said these words to me thereafter: “Philip, don’t you ever doubt me again. It is my desire to heal ALL sick; not some, but ALL!”

If you are sick and have prayed and you still have not been healed, it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love you. It means that something is blocking you from being healed. Ask the Lord through fasting and prayer to show you what it is and when He does, REPENT; and you will be totally and instantaneously healed in Jesus’ Mighty Name! Amen!!!

When the Finish Line Fades

The events of yesterday’s 4×100 meter will forever be etched in my memory. Our champion Bolt, in his final race of his illustrious career pulled-up on the anchor leg and was unable to finish the race. His pain-stricken face as he looked towards the finish line made me look into my life and future.

Bolt-beaten.jpg

What happens when the finish line becomes blurred?
What happens when we have every intention to finish but our body restricts you?
What can we do when the tenacity we once had becomes a depleted propensity that seeks to delete our intensity?

When the finish line fades and lines become blurred…
Will I still be able to take God at His Word?
When the pain strikes my body with no medical cure…
Will I trust in His Blood when all say it’s absurd?

When calamity strikes and I am bent out of shape…
Can I be unshakeable forever abiding within my faith?
When the lights go out and my friends fade…
Even then, I will trust in the Ancient of Days!

Bolt’s legendary status has been borne through dedication, passion and pain,
Success has a price that most won’t be paying.

I do want to speak of another Legend though, one who eclipses the sum total of all great men.
He is the Alpha, the Omega, the Beginning and End.

I do know of a Legend, a best friend to all men, acquainted with our sorrows, the Lifter of our Heads.
He is Jesus, the true, ever-living, faithful; Our Daily Bread.

I celebrate the Legend that I’ve found in Christ.
He who became nothing so that we who were nothing could rise.

When the finish line fades and all the world’s a mess,
Trust in Jesus he will make a message of life’s tests.

Stronger Than Nuclear

Scripture Reading
Isaiah 58:9
Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

Want to see the impossible, the unexplainable, the supernatural?
Then one must be willing to fast. In situations where nations experienced powerful demonstrations of revival and breakthroughs, fasting was a major key.
There are varied kinds of fasting but the one that I am referring to today is the abstaining from food whilst seeking God for a desperate need. There are many life-changing experiences that can be made manifest from fasting, such as:

¤ Unlocking deeper levels of intimacy with God.
¤ Getting healing from life-altering diseases and conditions.
¤ For deliverance and breakthroughs for one’s self or others.
¤ Seeking God for wisdom and direction for important situations.
¤ To see revival and transformation in a nation, community, church, family etc.
¤ Breaking down strongholds of addictions, curses and oppression.
¤ Gaining grace over lusts and pride.
¤ Increasing one’s capacity for the power of God, that is, the anointing.
¤ Getting answers to anything deemed impossible or incurable.

Fasting and Prayer is the strongest of all weapons given to man. There is no other weapon that is as powerful – for he who fasts, moves the Hand and Heart of Almighty God.

Isaiah 58 is a good place for each person to start reading should they have a desire to fast, learn how to fast or to find out the benefits of fasting. One thing I know is this, the body primarily needs food to survive. When you say to God that I am willing to suffer my core need of the flesh for a need in the spirit; He becomes all the more attentive and focused to our every plea.

When Purpose Calls

Where would the world of technology be without a Bill Gates?
Where would the sport of Basketball be without a Michael Jordan?
Where would Track & Field be without a Usain Bolt?
Where would Reggae music be without a Bob Marley?
Where would Jamaica be without Our National Heroes?
Where would we be without our Mom’s and Dad’s?
Where would we be without the spouse we chose to give our life to?
But most important of all – Where would we be without Jesus Christ?

Purpose had to be claimed and fulfilled through each of these persons listed above. Imagine if each never accepted their chosen path and decided to live without true purpose; how would things be different Today?

What is your true God-given divine purpose? For what circumstance and situation were you made to impact and better? Purpose like breath has been given to each and every one of us. Pray to the Lover of Your Soul and ask Him, “Lord, what is my purpose here on this earth?”

If you already know your purpose, I encourage you towards the journey of running the race and reaching the prize. I also encourage you to help someone along the way to find their purpose as well. God wants to use each and every one of us in a manner that will bring glory to His name. I challenge you to seek Him in this regard. Amen!!!

The Chance We Didn’t Take

Life is a story of chances, some of which has led heart ache; others, have given us some of the most amazing memories we have today. A person who refuses to take a chance or risk may very well avoid being hurt, but sometimes, even the hurts teaches us wisdom that may make us into more successful people tomorrow. The act of not taking a chance in my opinion, is worse than taking a chance and getting hurt by it. There is no knowledge that is not beneficial in some way.

The word ‘chance’ denotes the presence of a risk or an opportunity that may or may not bring a positive outcome. Let’s just say we all gave God a chance in our lives, we would be assured of the following:

1. He would never fail and would never leave or forsake us.
2. Even if we thought He had failed us or, we believe your life to be irredeemable, He has the ability to make all things work together for our good.
3. He puts His word above His own name meaning that, His #1 priority is in keeping His word.

This chance could easily be described as one of the simplest, most powerful and most pertinent of all. In the end of a life we may have made a million choices including chances given to school, work, friends, family and self. Of all the chances to be made, the one chance we didn’t take could be the one that could prove to be our biggest mistake. It could be so very profound, that amidst all of a persons success, good heart and good deeds they would have passed on without being heaven-bound.

Of a million chances that are taken within a person’s life, the most powerful and precious is the one we make for Jesus Christ. Continue reading “The Chance We Didn’t Take”

The Cure for H.I.V.

Scenario:

Imagine if you or someone you loved was diagnosed with H.I.V. One can imagine that this could be the worst news that most people would ever want to hear. However, I also want you to imagine that there was a cure for H.I.V but it was very expensive. Let’s say the cost was 2 million dollars. Would you be willing to pay for the cure or invest in it for your loved one? Most people I know would.

Lesson:
One of the worst diseases in this world is sin. It is the root cause of sickness, disease, pain, depression, death and so much more. So many people there be that suffer from this eternally catastrophic disease yet none seem excited for the cure of Jesus Christ. We seem to be more swayed by the fruits of sin than sin itself. This is not a surprise or mere coincidence.

The devil has deceived us into accepting sinful lifestyles as we slay the voice of our conscience and the Holy Spirit. This then allows us to feel free and at peace in sin but in the end it’s the greatest deception of all. Let us not wait for calamity when the wages of sin comes to fruition when we then come to our senses. I urge us all to mediate upon the disease of sin and appropriate the cure of Jesus Christ.

Happy Emancipation Day Jamaica!

My prayer for everyone in this ‘Land We Love,’ is for all of us to be holistically free. We have freedom in one sense, but with regard to our minds, souls and bodies there is another fight to win. It is a fight, and winning is the only acceptable option. Freedom cannot be gained by merely asking or negotiation. For many, freedom had to be purchased in blood and battle.

Our freedom was already paid for, when Jesus Christ, the Lord & Savior of the World came down to earth and fought the most bloody and most important battle for all lifetime. He won the battle for us to have the following:
¤ For our health over sickness and disease
¤ For our peace of mind over stress and chaos
¤ For our self-control over addictions and weaknesses
¤ For our power over principalities and demonic forces.
¤ For our joy over anger and depression.
¤ For our prosperity over poverty and lack.
¤ For our freedom over sin, death and the grave.

This day of National Emancipation can become a day of Personal Eternal Emancipation. A day where YOU say to the devil, “I will serve you no longer,” a day where you say to your flesh, “I shall daily slay thee,” and finally; a day where say to Jesus, “Lord Jesus, I confess of all my sins and ask You to forgive me of all my unrighteousness. I invite You into my heart and my life and be My Lord & Savior forevermore. AMEN!!!”

LET TODAY BE THE DAY WE ALL EXPERIENCE AND CELEBRATE EMANCIPATION IN CHRIST JESUS.

LOVE: It Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Do you like keeping score of wrongs done against you? Love becomes stifling in the midst of unforgiveness. No matter how good a spouse, a friend or a stranger, we are all prone to sins, shortcomings and mistakes. In an environment of forgiveness, trust and encouragement the capacity for growth is endless; yet, in an atmosphere of distrust, skepticism and fear, love is threatened to the point of futility.

Forgiveness is such an imperative that even God in His supernatural strength, cannot move in the life of an individual anchored in unforgiveness or crippled by fear. Hebrews 11:6 states, “And without faith it is impossible to please God…” and Matthew 6:14 says, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

love-as-mentioned-in-the-bible-34-728

Forgiveness and trust counters the hindrances to love’s perfection and maturity. In the same way our Loving God forgives and hopes endlessly amidst His knowledge that we are maybe going to fail yet again, He still does not refrain from loving and encouraging us. I encourage us all to be free from entanglements of distrust and the besetting sin of pride as well. Pride is foundation of unforgiveness and must ne banished. The humble He shall exalt and the proud, humbled.

Let’s love with all faith, hope and persistence.

Amen!!!

The Truth Shall Set You Free!!!

Imagine a world where doctors spare giving you your diagnosis for fear that they may hurt your feelings.

Imagine the judicial system refusing to judge someone of crimes because they were told to ‘judge not.’

Imagine if all teachers gave all students the same compliments and same grades for fear that one may feel offended.

Would the world be a better place?

Jesus said it like this, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

The doctor, in all loving kindness has a responsibility to tell you the truth of your diagnosis so you may decide which course of action you may need to take.

The same is true of Christians. We don’t want to be the ones to call sin out and bring what’s in the dark to light, but what example would we be if we hid our light under a bowl?

My prayer is that we all realize the disease of sin is more deadly than any disease, more catastrophic than natural disasters, more powerful than even death.

It’s that thing lurking on the inside of each man, woman and child – that no matter one’s creed, deeds or what they have achieved; if sin is in our lives we are in danger of hell fire.

That last statement is your diagnosis if you are a sinner. The course of action you now choose will determine if you die to the disease of sin or live by the cure of Jesus Christ.

Amen!!!
