Hidden in Plain Sight

The man she wanted was filled with words of wisdom that stimulated her intellect and further established her confidence. He properly guided her to a success that she herself thought could never be possible.

His words were the honied-dew kind that would remove strength from knees. They were like a heated knife melting through butter; romantic and yet filled with respect that solidified her inner-beauty and self-worth.

He showed her who she really was, not the reflection in the mirror but the finished, refined and perfected product of who she could be and was made to be. It’s as if he parted the curtains of time of revealed who she would eventually become.

He was just a shadow of a greater Master, an Architect at work. He was a father reassuring her of his love. He was a mother, comforting her in her times of hurt. He was that best friend who could read her emotions beneath the smile. He was the spouse that was carved from all that would complete her and by which he too would be completed.

He was Jesus, reaching through every friend, family member and lover trying to get to you. Behind every good, every smile, every moment and even the pain;
Jesus was forever the lover who was behind the good that came.

All that she can and was ever made to be, could never be achieved, until to His love finally surrendered and bent the knee. His plan is perfect, pure and powerful and was designed even before her birth; the problem is that she now gives His praise to everything else which brings Him pure hurt.

The Lord is not coming just for our:
¤ Tithe of 10%
¤ Day of Worship
¤ Few minutes of Prayer
¤ Random religious post
¤ Several respectable deeds

If we think He is, then we have been gravely deceived and immediate changes are recommended.

The Lord is coming for EVERYTHING!!!

He said to LOVE the LORD your GOD with ALL your HEART, ALL your SOUL & ALL your MIGHT; and finally, LOVE your NEIGHBOR as yourself (Luke 10:27).

He doesn’t want a portion, a day, an act, a moment. He wants ALL and in truth and in fact; deserves ALL.

That is:
¤ ALL our money
¤ ALL our energy
¤ ALL our talents
¤ ALL our focus
¤ ALL our attention
¤ ALL our affection
¤ ALL our minutes, days, weeks & years
¤ ALL our good, bad & ugly
¤ ALL our mess & messages
¤ ALL our sacrifices
¤ NO holding back
¤ NO reservation
¤ NO hesitation
¤ NO relenting

Then & ONLY then will we truly experience Ultimate Freedom & Victory in Jesus Christ.

Until that time, the devil will always have a bargaining chip; a tether by which he can reach us.

When we give it ALL up for Jesus, He will give it ALL up for us.

Question of Great Importance

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Matthew 16:26

Is it one more party? One more carnival season?

Is it worth one more day for immoral sex?

What is worth the risk of losing heaven for the purpose of gaining hell?

Is sin so great, so fulfilling and so good that you choose to risk today for a possible eternal suffering and sorrow tomorrow?

Is there a dollar value that will make hell worth the remorse and extremities that you will have to endure?

What has sin offered you that God, Himself couldn’t give you along with His promise of Heaven?

Is there a person, event, place or thing worth the value of your soul and the unbearable weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth?

The laws of life and probability dictate that each of us will all live our last day on earth.

Today, is the last day for at least 150,000 people world-wide.

Is it that you’re hoping that just before you die you’ll have the opportunity to give your life to the Lord.

Is that a risk that you are surely willing to take?

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions.

In other words, there are a lot of people in hell now that intended to give God their lives but, it was cut short before they could.

Risk not an eternity of suffering, for sin that was never fulfilling.

Rather, use plain logic and understand that serving Jesus is not only the most beneficial to life on earth, but also, eternity.

Singing the Devil’s Praises

The language of the devil is lies, thus it follows that glorifying him any greater than speaking his language, is that of singing him praises by our grumbling. Grumbling means to complain about something in an ill-tempered way.

The enemy seeks to destroy our faith by speaking lies directly to us, often in a first-person form of speech. For example, I may be asking the Lord in prayer to heal me of a certain condition. The enemy will try to input thoughts into my mind by saying things such as:

¤ I don’t know why I’m wasting my time, I’m not going to get healed.
¤ Look how much good people died from sicknesses, why would I be any different?
¤ Maybe I should just accept this as my own reality and stop fighting it.
¤ Maybe God really doesn’t exist, and if He does; maybe He just doesn’t care.

This is exactly what happened to me when I was struck with an unknown and incurable condition. This is how the enemy injected doubt into my thought process, which became the very things I meditated upon, and therefore had spoken.

People would ask me, “Haven’t you prayed?” I would grumble by saying “Yeah, I prayed and God didn’t heal me.” Some may not see the sin of grumbling in this statement, but if you ponder it a while longer you will recognize that not only am I speaking doubt into others, but I am also solidifying the doubt I already have about God within myself. Lastly, I am speaking ill against the Lord.

I am basically saying:

– I, Philip McKenley, am a good person.
– I prayed
– God, ‘the bad person’, refuses or withholds His healing.

The Bible speaks of the Israelites grumbling in 1 Corinthians 10:8-11 in the wilderness in which God sent the destroying angel to kill every one of them. The thing with grumbling is that it’s very cancerous and it spreads like wildfire. Once the sin of grumbling is conceived by believing in the devil’s lies, they have basically accepted their defeat and only through sincere repentance may again find favor with God.

For Want of a Nail

“For the want of a nail the shoe was lost,

For the want of a shoe the horse was lost,

For the want of a horse the rider was lost,

For the want of a rider the battle was lost,

For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost,

And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail.”

The horseshoe-nail may at the time seemed like the most insignificant, easily overlooked item on the list of things to worry about. It may have been as important as a fleeting thought or passerby on a busy street. Yet, the nail ignored became a kingdom destroyed.

The question I ask you today is this, “What nail are you overlooking today? What is the sin the easily besets you? Of which sin are you easily entangled in again and again? The seemingly insignificant, daily, seemingly harmless sin of today, can and may very well be the loss of a life and an eternity away from God tomorrow.

Many a friends of mine have come into contact with a near-death experience at some point in time. Even more have had the treasure of conviction made present by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Yet, most of my friends and sadly even family members, still betray their own God-given purpose for the likes of sin, self and the grave.

This message is for the each and every one of us, myself included. In introspection and sheer honesty, couple with humility is our assured victory in Christ Jesus. Let us not overlook any sin in our lives but become militant in our desire for “holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14.

Freedom can defined as liberation from slavery, restraint or another power.

Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of giving Himself for our freedom from entrapment, entanglement, powerless living and a victimized lifestyle.

By His sinless life, suffering and death upon the cross paid for our eternal freedom along with dominion over all the sins that brought defeat, death and destruction.

Believe It Or Not:
⇒Belief in Jesus alone is not enough to experience salvation or freedom from the power of sin and the grave.
“You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” James 2:24

⇒Even the devil and his demons believe in God; maybe even more than us, since they have seen Him.
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” James 2:19

⇒Belief Accompanied by Action brings not just freedom but victory over sin.
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:55-57)

Do You want to be Finally Be Free from sin Once & For All? If so, pray this prayer Today with all your heart and start reading your Bible.

Food for FAITH vs Food for FEAR

Food for FAITH vs Food for FEAR

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

              ~Feed Your Faith~

¤ Reading the Bible
Reading the Word of God builds faith as the scripture states, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Rom.10:17).

¤ Mediating on God’s Word
Meditating on scripture further strengthens our understanding of His Word also allowing for powerful revelations.
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and he meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:2-3).

¤ Positive Declarations
Many studies have referenced benefits of speaking positively. Today, I urge you to take that one step further; declaring the Word of God over your life and the lives of others. Scripture states, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” (Job 22:28).

¤ Studying Scripture
The Bible is also called the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17) and studying will make you more effective when wielding it.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

¤ Asking
The Lord said “Ask and it shall be given to you” (Matt. 7:7). The simple process of asking (not according to selfish means) and receiving builds the muscle of faith.

¤ Praying in the Spirit
“Building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 1:20) sharpens and amplifies your spiritual senses such as your discernment, faith, hearing the voice of God.

¤ Fellowship with Others
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Prov. 27:17). Being around like-minded individuals will help to bolster your faith especially as testimonies are shared.

¤ Obedience
‘”Come!’ answered Jesus. So Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water to Jesus” (Matt.14:29). Jesse Duplantis explained it like this, “Stay in the boat and you’ll meet disciples; walk on the water and you’ll meet Jesus.”

¤ Fasting
“Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I” (Isa. 58:9). Fasting unlocks uncommon miracles, revivals and transformations. Jesus said “this one cometh not out but by prayer and fasting” in Matthew 17:21.

              ~Starve Your Fears~

Horror Movies
Watching horror movies is one of the main door ways by which fear enters our lives.

Negative Speech
Speaking negatively does not produce faith and as the Bible states, “Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin” (Rom. 14:23). Additionally, Proverbs 18:21 which says, “Life and death is in the power of the tongue.” So, avoid all forms of negative speaking.

Negative Thinking
Worrying, being anxious, over thinking situations also produces fears, hence why the Bible commands; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Phil. 4:6).

Exposure to Excessive Violence
One’s exposure to violence also has the tendency to produce uneasiness and fear if we allow our emotions to go unchecked.

Victim of Violent Crime
Being a victim of a violent crime can additionally be a means by which fear may have a grip on our lives.

The way we are brought up can influence the level of faith we have in God and also the amount of fear we may have also. Scripture states that “Bad company ruins good character” (1 Cor. 15:33).

Lack of Knowledge
Ignorance is the source by which fear enters our lives and establishes strongholds. This is why the Bible advises to “be not ignorant of your enemies’ devices” (2 Cor. 2:11). Hosea 4:6 also states, “My people are destroyed by lack of knowledge.”

The primary verse above (that is, 2 Tim. 1:7) states the following:

1. Fear is a spirit &
2. God did not give us

Therefore, if anyone of us struggle with any kind of fear inclusive of fear of heights, insects, public speaking and so on; we have to get rid of it. What we do know is that God gave us 3 things:

1. Power
2. Love
3. Sound-mind/self-control

All we have to do is pray this prayer today and be rid of every kind of fear once and for all.

Lord Jesus, I confess today that I struggle with fear (state specifically the kind(s) of fear that you struggle with). I am your child and You never gave me this fear, but You gave me power, love and a sound mind. I ask for Your forgiveness for opening the doorway for this fear to have come into my life and I repent now! I ask you Lord Jesus, to expel from within me, every fear right now, in the Name of Jesus! Set me free by the power of Your Blood & demolish every stronghold in Jesus’ Name. I now receive power, love and self control now and forevermore in Jesus’ Name. Amen!!!

Worry Not!

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” This was a question posed by Jesus in Matthew 6:27. It went futher on to say from verses 28-32:

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendorwas dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

The King James Version made specific mention of these flowers actually being lillies. Now, there are 80-100 different species of lilies. They’ve never worked a day, yet the Bible says that not even Solomon, who would be among the richest or maybe the richest today could comapare to theses lillies.

Someone asked, “If God is real, then why is there so much evil in this world? Bad things happen to good people all the time; where is God in all of this and why should I not worry and take matters into my own hands?”

The other person responded, “There is so much soap in this world yet not everyone is clean. In fact, you could lay down beside soap everyday of your life and you still would never be clean unless YOU CHOSE to apply it to your body.”

The same goes for God’s presence; He is everywhere. The responsibility is upon us to CHOOSE HIM and apply HIS WORD to our life and we will be cleansed from our sins and receive His protection, provisions and all His promises.

Finally, Jesus summed up this lesson by saying, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). All that this is saying is for us to put God first in all the areas of our lives by striving to live holy and righteous lives and all that we want out of life will be given to us. Another reference to this truth may be found at Psalm 37: 4, “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

My prayer today is that if we have ever struggled with worrying that we mark this day as the last day that we will ever worry again. We are not worriers but Warriors in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
