Hidden in Plain Sight

The man she wanted was filled with words of wisdom that stimulated her intellect and further established her confidence. He properly guided her to a success that she herself thought could never be possible.

His words were the honied-dew kind that would remove strength from knees. They were like a heated knife melting through butter; romantic and yet filled with respect that solidified her inner-beauty and self-worth.

He showed her who she really was, not the reflection in the mirror but the finished, refined and perfected product of who she could be and was made to be. It’s as if he parted the curtains of time of revealed who she would eventually become.

He was just a shadow of a greater Master, an Architect at work. He was a father reassuring her of his love. He was a mother, comforting her in her times of hurt. He was that best friend who could read her emotions beneath the smile. He was the spouse that was carved from all that would complete her and by which he too would be completed.

He was Jesus, reaching through every friend, family member and lover trying to get to you. Behind every good, every smile, every moment and even the pain;
Jesus was forever the lover who was behind the good that came.

All that she can and was ever made to be, could never be achieved, until to His love finally surrendered and bent the knee. His plan is perfect, pure and powerful and was designed even before her birth; the problem is that she now gives His praise to everything else which brings Him pure hurt.

18 Years After

18 years ago to this exact day a 16-year-old Jamaica College student went up to the front of a church in response to an altar call.

Little did he know how his life was going to be transformed. He neither knew 1 week later he would be filled with the Holy Spirit nor that 2 weeks after God would use him to heal someone and prophesy to a church.

All he knew that he was as sinful, cunning and evil as they came. On the surface, he was a seemingly decent young man, but deep down was a person that would weaken anyone’s relationship with the Lord.

From turning proper Christian-like girls to the most daring ambitious bad girls to influencing curious people to becoming the most hardcore partygoers.

How was he to know that Good Friday, would lead him to do the complete opposite of what he did previously.

Or that he would be a preacher on buses, a minister through social media, a mentor to a few, a full-time evangelist to a world that seems to be growing ever so further away from Jesus Christ.

Yet, here he is; 18 years after:

The road; a mess.
The walk; riddled with failure.
The struggles; many.
Those led to the Lord; around a thousand.
Greatest miracles; salvation and stage 4 cancer leukemia healing.
God; ever-present.
Fighting; always.
Loving; always.
His; always!
Humility; my number 1 ask of the Lord.

This is where I am after 18 years. Where will you be?

ALL or NOTHING

The Lord is not coming just for our:
¤ Tithe of 10%
¤ Day of Worship
¤ Few minutes of Prayer
¤ Random religious post
¤ Several respectable deeds

If we think He is, then we have been gravely deceived and immediate changes are recommended.

The Lord is coming for EVERYTHING!!!

He said to LOVE the LORD your GOD with ALL your HEART, ALL your SOUL & ALL your MIGHT; and finally, LOVE your NEIGHBOR as yourself (Luke 10:27).

He doesn’t want a portion, a day, an act, a moment. He wants ALL and in truth and in fact; deserves ALL.

That is:
¤ ALL our money
¤ ALL our energy
¤ ALL our talents
¤ ALL our focus
¤ ALL our attention
¤ ALL our affection
¤ ALL our minutes, days, weeks & years
¤ ALL our good, bad & ugly
¤ ALL our mess & messages
¤ ALL our sacrifices
¤ NO holding back
¤ NO reservation
¤ NO hesitation
¤ NO relenting

Then & ONLY then will we truly experience Ultimate Freedom & Victory in Jesus Christ.

Until that time, the devil will always have a bargaining chip; a tether by which he can reach us.

When we give it ALL up for Jesus, He will give it ALL up for us.

Who Does Not Need Rest?

Rest according to the dictionary means to:
i. cease work or movement in order to relax, sleep, or recover strength.
ii. an instance or period of resting.
iii. an interval of silence of a specified duration.

What Does the Bible Say About Rest?
i. But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; Isa. 40:31
ii. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. Ps. 23:2-3
iii. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb. 4:10

Humans need rest, and without it we will most certainly die. It is also the most major component to health and fitness as well.

Every creature and even our machinery depends on periods of rest and without it, optimal performance will become diminished and later lead to serious malfunction.

Jesus’ death and resurrection was one that enabled us to be able to enter into His rest. Heaven is the final resting place, but the Lord wants for us to experience His rest while we are still here in this life.

He wants you to surrender your life to Him. For so long, we have been fighting our own battles, for success, for being upright people, for achieving a future for our family.

The worst part is that we have been doing it without any rest whatsoever, and if we continue will only continue to face diminishing returns along with failure, fears, insecurities, sadness, frustration and depression.

Jesus, has paved the path for you to finally rest and finally give Him the go ahead to fight and win these battles for you, whilst imparting the peace, the joy, contentment and great gain in all that you do.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28

Question of Great Importance

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Matthew 16:26

Is it one more party? One more carnival season?

Is it worth one more day for immoral sex?

What is worth the risk of losing heaven for the purpose of gaining hell?

Is sin so great, so fulfilling and so good that you choose to risk today for a possible eternal suffering and sorrow tomorrow?

Is there a dollar value that will make hell worth the remorse and extremities that you will have to endure?

What has sin offered you that God, Himself couldn’t give you along with His promise of Heaven?

Is there a person, event, place or thing worth the value of your soul and the unbearable weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth?

The laws of life and probability dictate that each of us will all live our last day on earth.

Today, is the last day for at least 150,000 people world-wide.

Is it that you’re hoping that just before you die you’ll have the opportunity to give your life to the Lord.

Is that a risk that you are surely willing to take?

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions.

In other words, there are a lot of people in hell now that intended to give God their lives but, it was cut short before they could.

Risk not an eternity of suffering, for sin that was never fulfilling.

Rather, use plain logic and understand that serving Jesus is not only the most beneficial to life on earth, but also, eternity.

Do You Have Insurance?

There are an average of 4 births per day for every second, which equals to about 360,000 new lives daily. Conversely, there are 2 deaths for every second, amounting to 151, 600 lives lost world-wide.

Truths:
¤ Life and death are at work each day.
¤ On the question of death it’s not a matter of if, or how, but when.
¤ As a child is birthed the countdown clock to our unknown end begins.

The above statements are reflective of a reality that we cannot escape. There are no evasive maneuvers or actions that can lengthen, prolong or foil the specific time that death comes knocking. In fact, it’s more of a kicking down of the door than a knock, if we are being blunt. It comes for all, ready or not, man, woman or child, good or bad, rich or poor, black or white and most times, when we least expect it.

The worst part of all of this is that most times there is no warning signal, just another day. Maybe you hear another person speaking about Jesus. Possibly you were challenged by a loved one to make things right with God, all in the middle of a busy day. Or perhaps, there was none of that, and death just comes.

We constantly are reminded of life and it’s fragility and in love, I also seek to warn you of eternity and it’s severity. The fragility of life must be weighed against the extreme severity of eternity. A gamble with your life’s wealth may see you rebounding some years after, but a gamble on Jesus has no re-corrective measures.

We seek insurance for this life? I better implore you to find assurance for the next. If God, Jesus, Satan, Heaven and Hell didn’t exist, then we all go to some random abyss or just die in the end. Christians may have been wrong but in the end nobody really loses. However, if we are right, and God did really send His only begotten Son for us, and we rejected? We would know the bed we would have eternally made.

My Question is this:

ARE YOU READY TO LIE IN IT?

A Call to Arms

Many of us have been running from the fight as long as we can remember, in hopes that we would never have to face that battle ever again. Many of us have become cunning, and adapted to methods and schemes of evasive action for the purposes of escaping challenges and battles that must be won and difficulties that must be faced.

It’s ok for you to think that that these measures may work, because the truth is, they have for a while. Haven’t they? There are conversations we need to have, but we compromise internally and say to ourselves, “It’s not my place, it’s none on my business. Let it slide.” There are addictions we need to break, but we say “I’ll be good, things are okay. Life goes on.” There are devils we need to face, but we cloud it in, “Oh God’s not real, if He did then…”

The truth is this, there will come a fight for each and every one of us and it won’t matter your age, gender, status or belief. There is a common enemy of man that has been deriding your efforts at success, eroding your dreams of a good marriage, suffocating your desires to be the person God has called you to be.

There is a FIGHT!!! There is a fight; and it has to be fought or I guarantee you upon the solid basis of scripture that you will not only lose, you not only will die, but you will be destroyed! When the Bible asked us to fight the good fight of faith, God knew the devil was going to attack your belief system in yourself, in your neighbor and in Him.  There is a fight, and that fight must be won, for the eternal destiny of a nation, your loved ones, your family and yourself.

Let he who is running, run no more! Let he who is sleeping, awake! Let he who is fearful, take up their weapon of war! FIGHT!!!! Fight for your life; because, as it says in the statement, your life depends on it!!!!

Consistently Focused

Two men are trying to cut down a tree for themselves respectively. The first man applies the axe to his tree a thousand times and yet, the tree remained standing. The second man, only swings one hundred times and yet his tree, a tad bit wider than the first, fell to the ground. The difference between the two men was that the first one swung randomly hitting any and everywhere that he could, whilst the second one made every to apply each consecutive swing to the same spot.

Such is the power of focus and consistency. Even the biggest giants will fall when you are properly focused and consistent in prayer, obedience, praise etc. The reason why so many Christians are ineffective comes down to those two points; lack of focus and consistency. One may have focus but without consistency, focus is futile. Whilst consistency without focus is self-defeating.

My encouragement to us today is to gain insight and grace from the Holy Spirit in battling the core issues within our lives that have been eroding our success and purpose. Let us find the areas where we are weakest and apply consistent focus and see the power of God manifested in magnificent ways.

The Measure of Our Treasure

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34

The word ‘treasure‘ according to the Merriam Dictionary is described as wealth of any kind or in any form, or something of great worth or value. Treasure today can be defined as money, time and energy.

For most, their main desire is for more money, the poor need it, the average pursue it and the rich hoard it. Whenever we come into contact with money, God instantly starts looking on how we spend it. What percentage is spent on ourself? What percentage is given to God? Do we include Him in the ways and means that each dollar is spent?

What about our time? How much hours are spent furthering our own direct needs and wants over the plans, purposes and mission that God made for us to execute. What is the ratio of time spent doing our own thing versus time doing God’s will and seeking His face?

Thirdly, there is our energy. Many may honor God with their money through tithing, some may even spend some time having their devotions, but how much of our energy is spent being a witness to the ends of the earth, evangelizing, encouraging and praying for others.

He is looking for people who will not just honor Him with their lips but with their hearts as well, their prized treasures, the sacred gifts, their best. Are you willing to give God your best treasure? Is He not more than worth it? Will He not more than honor your giving Him your best by giving you His best treasures?

Finally, I must note one simple and overlooked fact:
God has no use for our money, He already owns it all. When He asks you to give it is His way of getting blessings to you. Giving our best to Him shows how obedient and reliant we are on Him. AMEN!!!!

I’m Full!!!

The only way to fill a vessel is to first empty it of its contents. The more empty the vessel, the more substance will be required to fill it.

To be filled with God presence assumes that you are not full of yourself, spiritually and practically.

To be filled with His joy unspeakable and peace that surpasses all understanding requires us to empty ourselves – of our anxieties, fear and unbelief.

To be filled with His Holy Spirit means that we have rid ourselves of the sinful spirit of this world by accepting Jesus as our Lord & Savior.

We are all filled with something; my question is, What are we filled with?
Are we filled with His power, peace and presence? Or are we full of ourselves, our motifs, inclinations, proclivities and all?

The easiest thing about being filled is this, God will only enter once we have emptied ourselves. All we have to do is to confess all our sinfulness, unrighteousness, weaknesses, addictions and all to Him. He will then fill us with the grace and power to live holy, righteously and free from the power of sin and death.

I encourage us all to be empty of the world and filled with God’s power and love. At life’s end, God’s gauge of a successful life will begin with what we all did with Jesus Christ.

He MUST INCREASE, I must decrease – John 3:30. Amen!!!
