Hidden in Plain Sight

The man she wanted was filled with words of wisdom that stimulated her intellect and further established her confidence. He properly guided her to a success that she herself thought could never be possible.

His words were the honied-dew kind that would remove strength from knees. They were like a heated knife melting through butter; romantic and yet filled with respect that solidified her inner-beauty and self-worth.

He showed her who she really was, not the reflection in the mirror but the finished, refined and perfected product of who she could be and was made to be. It’s as if he parted the curtains of time of revealed who she would eventually become.

He was just a shadow of a greater Master, an Architect at work. He was a father reassuring her of his love. He was a mother, comforting her in her times of hurt. He was that best friend who could read her emotions beneath the smile. He was the spouse that was carved from all that would complete her and by which he too would be completed.

He was Jesus, reaching through every friend, family member and lover trying to get to you. Behind every good, every smile, every moment and even the pain;
Jesus was forever the lover who was behind the good that came.

All that she can and was ever made to be, could never be achieved, until to His love finally surrendered and bent the knee. His plan is perfect, pure and powerful and was designed even before her birth; the problem is that she now gives His praise to everything else which brings Him pure hurt.

The Lord is not coming just for our:
¤ Tithe of 10%
¤ Day of Worship
¤ Few minutes of Prayer
¤ Random religious post
¤ Several respectable deeds

If we think He is, then we have been gravely deceived and immediate changes are recommended.

The Lord is coming for EVERYTHING!!!

He said to LOVE the LORD your GOD with ALL your HEART, ALL your SOUL & ALL your MIGHT; and finally, LOVE your NEIGHBOR as yourself (Luke 10:27).

He doesn’t want a portion, a day, an act, a moment. He wants ALL and in truth and in fact; deserves ALL.

That is:
¤ ALL our money
¤ ALL our energy
¤ ALL our talents
¤ ALL our focus
¤ ALL our attention
¤ ALL our affection
¤ ALL our minutes, days, weeks & years
¤ ALL our good, bad & ugly
¤ ALL our mess & messages
¤ ALL our sacrifices
¤ NO holding back
¤ NO reservation
¤ NO hesitation
¤ NO relenting

Then & ONLY then will we truly experience Ultimate Freedom & Victory in Jesus Christ.

Until that time, the devil will always have a bargaining chip; a tether by which he can reach us.

When we give it ALL up for Jesus, He will give it ALL up for us.

Russian Roulette Anyone?

16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

There is a level of suicidal pride that some of us exhibit while we are in sin. From time to time, we may come into contact with ministers of the gospel who talk to us about giving our lives to the Lord. Yet, sometimes we boastfully choose to remain in sin, as we turn our backs on the very Savior who is trying to deliver us from impending doom.

Like the rich man we exclaim that we will take life easy – eat, drink and be merry; not knowing that our lives could be required of us at that very moment. It’s like the most dangerous form of Russian Roulette that has ramifications in eternity. The worst part of it all, is that we pretend as if this game has been rigged in our favor, not knowing that each moment that we deny Christ, we draw ever so closer to that last chance that so many of those that passed on had.

My bothers and sisters, take this message as a warning, wrapped in the love of Christ Jesus; “While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come on them suddenly'” (1 Thes. 5:3). When Jesus said boast not thyself in tomorrow it was not a recommendation or word of encouragement; it was a warning.

Prayer for Today:
LORD JESUS, I repent of ever denying or turning away from You. I ask You to come into my heart and forgive me from all my uncleanliness and unrighteousness. I receive You now and forevermore as my Lord & Savior. AMEN!

The Question

The Lord recently impressed upon me that He wanted me to start to reach out to all of my contacts on all social media platforms, sharing with them what He has been teaching me throughout my devotions and life as a Christian. Hence, these daily devotionals.

I knew I would be asked by some persons, specifically on the WhatsApp forum, to be excluded from the broadcasts; I expected it and still continue to. The Lord had prepared me and is still in the process of doing so, yet the two verses that spur me on are:

1) Freely as you receive, freely give (Matthew 10:8).
2) For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

The Lord is in the business of wanting to save all, but He himself said that though many are called, the ones who would answer His call would be few. Therefore, if even one person is being inspired, motivated and empowered by these messages then I shall press on without becoming weary in well-doing.

The Lord last night asked me to pose one question to all and for all to answer to themselves as honestly and humbly as possible:

It’s the kind of poignant question that I am still meditating upon. My prayer is that after today we will all be able to answer with this question with total confidence and sincerity saying, “No!”

Prayer for Today:
LORD JESUS, my prayer today is to be counted worthy of Your marvelous sacrifice for me. I pray that You may forgive me for the times that I have rejected, denied or mocked You. I repent now and ask for you to forgive and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I invite You to be my Lord & Savior now and forevermore, in Jesus’ Name. AMEN!!

Christianity – No Shades of Grey

The Lord sees things two ways. For Him there is no grey. Sometimes I myself find it so hard to accept this truth yet, we will examine this through scriptures:

Scripture #1:
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Matthew 12:30

Scripture #2:
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. James 4:4

EITHER – Child of God
OR – Friend of World

EITHER – Child of God
OR – Enemy of God

EITHER – Child of God
OR – Hatred/Enmity towards God

Scripture #3:
Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey–whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? Romans 6:16

There are some who try to live life in 50/50 manner. They do some partying, some church, some fornication, some prayer, some swearing, some Bible reading, some lust, some religious talk, some self-worship and yet no true worship.

One of the most important verses of this lesson is this, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth” (Rev. 3:15-17).

The Lord despises people who persist in trying to live a double-life. No man can serve two master as according to the word of God. It would even seem that the Lord would much rather put up with someone who is cold, but for those who know what is right and still choose to do evil, the Lord does not show the same regard.

My prayer today is that you realize the danger in not being given over 100% to Jesus and His holiness. I pray you count His salvation more important than anything else that you could attain, achieve or gain.

Prayer for Today:
Lord Jesus, I humbly come before you and repent from this life that I have led, to this very point. I confess all my sins to You today and I receive You, Jesus as my Lord & Savior. Help me by Your grace to seek You and worship You with my whole heart now and forevermore more, in Jesus’ Name. AMEN!!!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

For the last two days we examined what it meant to Seek FIRST, as well as the Kingdom of God. Today, we ask the Holy Spirit to teach us about the Lord’s Righteousness.

The word ‘righteous‘ as according to the Miriam dictionary means free from guilt or sin. This worldly definition does align itself with Jesus’ statement of truth, “who the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36).

Before the finished work of Jesus, all our efforts to live righteously would always be eroded by our own sinful nature. Isaiah the prophet in chapter 64 and verse 6 best put it this way, “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.”

Jesus, in His holy life, death and resurrection created a way for us to be able to seek righteous and find it. Not only is He only true way but “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21).

So we receive Christ Jesus’ righteousness by faith. What He expects from us now, is to ensure that at we are seeking His Kingdom and Righteouness first in the morning, noon, night, before decisions are made, amidst our hardships, while things are just perfect etc. We must pursue a holy and righteous life each and everyday, where we learn more about His love, feel and impart His power and experience the Glory of His Presence.

Prayer for Today:

KING JESUS, indeed you are more than worthy to be praised. I thank You for paving the way for me to receive and pursue Your righteousness. I thank You for giving me the grace to seek after Your Kingdom and to give you full rulership over my heart and life. I know Your plans toward me is to give me hope and a future, and as such, I declare that I will passionately pursue You, Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness from this day – to my last day; in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen!!!

The Kingdom of God

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Yesterday, we looked at seeking FIRST; today we will be focusing on the Kingdom of God.

The word ‘kingdom‘ speaks to a realm in which a king has established his authority. As such, the Kingdom of God is God’s rulership over all dominions, authorities and kingdoms, earthly, heavenly and eternally. This is why He is the King of all kings and Lord of all Lords.

Jesus taught us how to pray mentioning “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” He also mentioned in the Gospels that “it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). In Luke 17:21 Jesus said “behold, the kingdom of God is within you” yet in Matthew 11:12 He states, “the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

So these verses let us know that Jesus wants the Kingdom to be evident in our lives. He wants God to have the authority and reigns of our heart. Now, if it’s His Father’s will to give us the kingdom then why should we have to take it by force? The answer is that adversary would rather us be more concerned about about worrying about what we shall eat, drink or wear as pagans do (Matt. 6:31-32); whereas Jesus immediately lets us know that our priority #1 is seeking first THE KINGDOM.

He wants us to be violent against the adversary and against the flesh to ensure that His kingdom (the power and the glory) is at work in our lives. He wants us to be totally surrendered to Him where He can establish His authority and manifest His love on earth through us.

Prayer for Today:

LORD JESUS, I thank you for all that You have done for me. I ask You to cleanse and forgive me of all my sins. I pray today for the grace and desperation to seek first, Your kingdom and righteousness. Please give me the diligence and discipline to die daily to lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. I thank You for cleansing me and decide today to seek You with my whole heart in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
